Spirit Beasts the Hunt is On !!!

Spirit Beasts are perhaps the most sought after pets by Beast Mastery Hunters. Introduced in Wrath of the Lich King, Spirit Beasts are among the rarest pets in the game. Obtaining one as a pet is an achievement unto itself.
Due to their infrequent spawn rates, superior loot drops and in the case of Loque'nahak, association with achievements, taming a Spirit Beast can be an arduous adventure. However, a successful hunt is perhaps one of the most gratifying in-game experiences a Hunter can enjoy.
Spirit Beasts are part of the Ferocity family of pets. Apart from their unique skins, the other thing that sets them apart from other pets in the Ferocity family is their unique ability, Spirit Strike. Spirit Strike is a Moonfire-like ranged spell which causes a burst of nature damage along with a DoT effect. It has a very striking animation.
Along with Spirit Strike, Spirit Beasts also possess Claw as another damaging attack, along with Prowl, Cower and Growl.

While they are not currently the top dogs when it comes to DPS, they are very close. More than anything, Spirit Beasts are sought after due to their unique appearance and the thrill that accompanies the adventure of taming one.
Loque'nahak is the only Spirit Beast I have personal experience with as far as hunting and taming goes. However, I have carefully researched and chronicled my findings pertaining to all three of the Spirit Beasts in Northrend.
The following sections provide valuable information pertaining to the three Spirit Beasts currently in-game. Hopefully some of my posts will assist you in taming one of these magnificent pets.


Skoll



Skoll is the most recent Spirit Beast to be added to the game. Skoll was introduced in Patch 3.2 and can be found in the Storm Peaks. Skoll is unique in the sense that he is the first wolf model Spirit Beast to be added to the game. Apart from his unique skin, his abilities are exactly the same as the other two Spirit Beasts. Currently he has 3-4 confirmed spawn areas.

Gondria



Added in Patch 3.1, Gondria was the second Spirit Beast to be introduced. This spectral tiger has a whispy aura around it which gives it a very ethereal and ghostly appearance. Pictures don't do this Spirit Beast justice, as it looks much more impressive live and in-game. Gondria has approximately 7 known spawn locations in Zul'Drak.

Loque'nahak



The first Spirit Beast to be added to the World of Azeroth, Loque'nahak is perhaps the most coveted of the Spirit Beasts. This magnificent cat is the only Spirit Beast to possess a completely unique model. Loque'nahak is arguably the most difficult Spirit Beast to obtain due to the multiple spawn locations, as well as its association with the Frostbitten Achievement.
